French Toast

This post is brought to you by Dickinson’s. Totally kidding, but our kids can not resist heisting the leftover minis from a room service cart, so I find a way to sneak them into breakfast at home when they least expect it (#momwin).

About this French toast though.

Start with good bread - an earthy whole grain, crusty semolina, or, in today’s case, a sourdough boule.

Try this:

4 eggs • 1 cup whole fat buttermilk • 1 tsp vanilla • pinch of salt • 1-2 tsp cinnamon

Heat a medium pan with 2 tbsp butter. Soak your bread for about 3 minutes, until the crust softens a bit. Toast each side until brown and caramelized, approximately 3-4 minutes.

Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, real maple syrup (mini jar optional), and fresh berries.
